Visit to the Black Country Living Museum

A street at the Black Country Living Museum

A March trip was made to the Black Country Living Museum at Dudley, west of Birmingham.

There was so much to see and to do as the museum shows life from the Industrial Revolution to the days of post-war prosperity.

The people who work there were mostly dressed in character, very helpful and informative there were homes from the 30s, 40s and 50s, which were very nostalgic for some of us oldies!

There were shops, industrial workshops and a coal mine in the canal side village. We could go to school, visit a 1920s cinema, play old fashioned street games visit pubs, eat fish and chips and ride on heritage vehicles.

There was so much to do that we couldn’t do everything on offer and it was well worth the two hour journey to go to such a special place which is constantly being extended to include new displays.
