It was a cold, sunny day when we left to visit the Whitchurch Silk Mill. We had a guided tour and were shown how the silk material was made. They have researched and made ribbons and scarfs to commemorate Jane Austen who was born 250 years ago only 5km away in the village of Steventon. After a visit to the gift shop, we proceeded by coach to Winchester.
Noted for its cathedral – which many visited. Others to have lunch and retail therapy.
A good day – at least it didn’t rain until we were on the way home
