On a grey, windy day we left Trowbridge for the short journey to Ozleworth in Gloucestershire to Newark Park. It is set high on the ridge of the Cotswold escapement with views of the valley below. The gardens were built over 3 levels. When we were there, it was a carpet of white – snowdrops. Meandering around the gardens – with many plants and seasonal flowers was a delight. The house, which was built as a Tudor hunting lodge was very interesting. There are 2 peacocks which wander around. One even followed us back to the coach. We were fortunate – the rain kept off until we were leaving.
