Our September trip took us to Hidcote Gardens near Chipping Campden.
The outward journey was affected by road works and road closures, and resulted in an impromptu tour of the Cotswolds.
The gardens were a delight with pools, gazebos, colourful borders, winding paths and hidden garden rooms.
The journey home was much quicker even with a stop at Gloucester Services.
