Trip to Henley on Thames

On the river at Henley

This was a first – we left Trowbridge for a visit to Henley on Thames. We arrived around 11.30am. Time with wander around Henley which has many old, interesting properties.

The church of St.Mary’s has an interesting rood. Completed in 1921. After lunch we then walked to the Thames to join our boat for a 2 hour cruise. We went a far a Wargrave lock and then returned under the bridge for a few more miles before returning. We had a very nice guide, who gave a lots of information and pointed out several houses and interesting buildings. It was a good day.
