The first session of a new music group, called "Music Top Tens", was held at the beginning of June.
This is a music listening and discussion group where members present their personal "Top Ten" music tracks in whatever category they choose. This might be tracks from their favourite albums, favourite singles of all time, favourite artists or groups, favourite genre or era, in fact anything which stimulates their interest in and energy for music, no matter what style. Individuals or couples take the lead in acting as host presenter at each session so that, over time, everybody can have a turn.
At the inaugural meeting, David Ross introduced the aims and format of the group and presented tracks from his Top Ten Female Vocalists. Attendees were encouraged to think about what kind of "Top Ten" they would like to present and, in July, John and Caroline Marsden entertained us with Caroline's all-time favourite tracks. In addition, Alan Soldat played his Top Ten "Doo-Wop" songs.
Come along to our future meetings, either just to listen to and enjoy the variety of music presented or even take the opportunity to present your own "Top Ten". You never know - you might just hear something new which interests you or be inspired to tell others about the music that you like!
