Global Tipping Points Study Day

Kennet u3a in conjunction with Marlborough College are organising a study day open to all u3a members.

The details are as follows:

The topical, thought-provoking and multi-generational event will be held on Monday 15th September 2025 in the Memorial Hall at Marlborough College. Our excellent speakers are all experienced in their varied fields at national and international level:

  • Jonathan Dent, Senior Editor at the Oxford English Dictionary. Jonathan will focus on changes in our use of language
  • Professor Sir Muir Gray, senior public health physician and pioneer in healthcare who will consider issues associated with our ageing society
  • Heidi Venamore, Chair of Council Marlborough College, geo-strategic advisor specialising in the Middle East and former Australian government diplomat will explore some current political aspects
  • Professor David Waltham, Professor of Geophysics, University of London who will focus on climate change
  • Dr Jeremy Wyatt, Emeritus Professor of Digital Healthcare and Chair of the British Computer Society’s AI in healthcare group. Jeremy will consider some of the risks and benefits of using Artificial Intelligence in healthcare.
