Caerleon & Tredegar House

Caerleon Amphitheatre.

It was raining when we left Trowbridge but cleared to be a nice sunny day when we arrive in Wales. We visited Roman Caerleon first. It was a free flow tour with members visiting the various Roman sites such as the amphitheatre, barracks and baths, plus the National Roman Legion Museum.

We then made the short drive to Tredegar House & Gardens. The red brick Restoration mansion house was the home of the Morgan family for over 500 years.

It set in extensive parkland with sweeping lawns & a lake and together with the Orangery and stables wasvery interesting.
